Pure Monk™ (Monk Fruit or Lou Han Guo) powder is a 100% pure, all-natural, virtually no-calorie sugar substitute, derived from the goodness of real fruit. Monk Fruit is a natural, healthy, Keto safe, flavorful alternative to table sugar and unhealthy chemical sweeteners such as aspartame. Monk fruit has been used for hundreds of years as a natural sweetener and as a traditional medicine in Eastern cultures, monk fruit extract is derived from a small, subtropical Asian melon. Also known as lo han guo, this fruit extract delivers a clean, sweet flavor, with no aftertaste. No wonder it’s been used in its native China for hundreds of years!

On A Diet? No Problem this is, gluten free, Paleo, Keto, diabetic safe, and delicious!!

About Julian Bakery’s Pure Monk™

Monk fruit extract is potent—about 100-250 times more intense than table sugar. So, you won’t need much, which saves you money!
Pure Monk is a 100% pure extract powder. This is important since many commercially marketed lo han guo-based sweeteners blend monk fruit with unhealthy fillers or sugars, such as such as dextrose (which is a corn-derived carbohydrate—not good!), sugar (yes, actual sugar!) or molasses.

How to Use Pure Monk

You can blend Pure Monk powder directly into liquid, or sprinkle it over any food that needs an extra blast of sweetness. It’s simple to use, and fits perfectly into a Paleo lifestyle!
But remember, it’s more intense than regular sugar. In fact, most people find you only need one gram of monk fruit extract to create the same sweet taste as eight teaspoons of sugar.
Monk fruit extract has a mildly fruit aroma and dissolves fully in water, making it the perfect way to enhance coffee, tea or protein shakes. Try just a tiny bit at first, since it’s so sweet! After a bit of trial-and-error, it will be easy to determine how much you need to sweeten your favorite smoothie or drink.
Or, use it in place of sugar or maple syrup. Try Pure Monk over Paleo-friendly pancakes, French toast, or in baked goods—monk fruit extract is heat-stable and fine for baking! Again, experiment with very small quantities of monk fruit extract at first, to ensure you get the sweetness you want without overdoing it.
You may also see monk fruit extract in sugar-free and no-sugar-added foods, such as Paleo Cookies. Look for it on the label of your favorite Paleo foods!

Pure Monk and your Health

Monk fruit has been used as a traditional medicine in China for hundreds of years. Small wonder then that certain types of monk fruit extract have been shown to have free-radical-fighting antioxidant activity and anti-cancer effects. Monk fruit has many other positive health effects: it’s been shown to be anti-tussive (cough suppressing), phlegm-relieving, immunomodulatory (able to regulate or modify certain immune functions), liver-protecting, glucose-lowering, and antimicrobial.
Research has shown that monk fruit extract is safe and it’s approved for use in the United States. Make sure to choose a 100% pure extract to avoid unnatural fillers. Try it as part of a weight loss or Paleo plan—you’ll love it!

I love using it. Just a very small amount is needed. I just used it to make keto friendly creme brûlée.

The best out there. Pricey, but unlike much cheaper alternative sellers, this is PURE monk fruit with a potency that is SO strong that only a fraction of the tiny included scoop is needed to sweeten enough, say, a cup of coffee or other drink. Most monk fruit sellers unscrupulously cut their product with whatever filler and may have much weaker monk fruit potency to start with. This is the one to get if you’re unsure – you can’t do better than Julian Bakery’s version!

I Love it.. The flavor is so good. I especially love it in my coffee/ protein shakes..
I also noticed it does not raise blood sugars so great for someone diabetic…

Wow! This product is amazing! Thanks to Julian Bakery for always keeping the additives and preservatives out of their products. For those of us trying to eat clean, this is the monk fruit for you. It is super sweet, a tiny pinch sweetens my tea. Now I am eager to try baking with it. Yum!

Just got reminded to review this after making some delicious home made monk fruit sweetened hazelnut/chocolate spread. I actually bought this about a year ago when the price was a lot better, and honestly when my supply runs out I’ll buy it here again. It lasts for such a long time, and so little goes so far. I barely put a dent in my supply and I bought this in 2018. I use this to sweeten flavored seltzer occasionally. I find that this monk fruit sweetener especially goes well with chocolatey or nutty flavors, but be careful if you use this as a sugar replacement where sugar needs to caramelize and/or act as a filler; you need so little of this that things like brownies (which get their chewiness and density from sugar that will caramelize as it bakes) will be difficult to recreate without serious recipe tweaking. Still worth the money.

A little goes a long way. I use one of those small spoons you get from a ice cream shop they give you when you want a sample and put my powder in an empty brown prescription bottle. It lasts months. I use just a spoon in my morning coffee and I can drink it black because of the delicious flavor it brings out. Never in my life could I ever drink coffee without milk or cream using any other sweetener. No after taste. You can use it in ice tea but you will need to stir hard with a spoon to help dissolve the product because it will stay clumped if you just pour it in. Don’t let the clumping dissuade you. It does dissolve after several seconds. I’m not sure if there is any other brand as pure as this product.
