Cheese Fried Chicken

May 20, 2025Gerardo Gomory

If you're craving the crispy, golden goodness of fried chicken but want to keep things a little cleaner, this cheesy crusted version is the perfect balance between indulgent and intentional. Made with Julian Bakery’s Organic Parmesan Seed Crackers and wholesome ingredients, this recipe ditches refined flours and deep frying in favor of a nutrient-dense, protein-packed crust and a lighter pan-fry in olive oil. The result? Crispy, juicy chicken with a savory, cheesy crunch you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Marinate the Chicken In a shallow dish or zip-top bag, combine the chicken breasts with lemon juice, garlic slices, salt, and pepper. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to tenderize and infuse flavor.
  2. Prep the Crust In a food processor, pulse the Organic Parmesan Seed Crackers until they form fine crumbs. Pour into a shallow dish for coating.
  3. Coat the Chicken Beat the egg in a separate shallow bowl. Remove chicken from the marinade, pat dry, and dip each piece into the egg, then coat thoroughly with the cracker crumbs. Press the crumbs on firmly to ensure a good crust.
  4. Fry to Crispy Perfection Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve & Enjoy Slice and serve hot with your favorite salad, veggie sides, or over cauliflower rice for a lighter meal.

Why It's a Healthier Option

This version of fried chicken uses wholesome, nutrient-dense ingredients in place of processed breadcrumbs or batter. Julian Bakery's Organic Seed Crackers - Parmesan bring protein, fiber, and healthy fats from flax, chia, and sesame seeds—plus a rich umami flavor from organic parmesan cheese. The use of olive oil for pan-frying instead of deep frying keeps the fat content in check while still delivering that irresistible crunch. It’s comfort food with a conscious twist.
